2025 Mid-Summer Update
08/01/2025
Can’t say we weren’t warned: TSW/CEWF [~2021]: Expect warmer wetter winters; hotter, dryer summers; more extreme events.
Same source forecasts the lake level to drop ´sooner’ than usual, as there is no significant rain in forecast. Since July 1st we have had about half the ‘normal’ rainfall. And, the recent 52h Hydro1 outage would count as one of those extreme events. However, the falling lake level also translates to more beach sooner at the Spit. those near-surface rocks and stumps will be a hazard sooner too. But, Ted Mills noted at the latest BoD meeting that Dysart just let the contract for road-side brush clearing and Percy seems to have been done first. In other roads news, the Province’s work on #35 north of Minden has significant delays during the week.
