And a couple of further notes for anyone still reading:

Peter Mills discovered that the Bell fiber has been activated at the Cottage Show. Today a Bell rep was calling everyone [likely all existing clients east of Carnarvon] encouraging switching. I interpreted his comments to mean Bell is having difficulty maintaining the old DSL equipment.

At an AGM several years ago one of the speakers mentioned they (County) were going to be using LIDAR to map the flood susceptible areas. At the CEWF annual meeting it was referenced. If you’re into maps: County of Haliburton Floodplain Mapping Project, Haliburton Floodplain Mapping

And the Woodlands and Waterways people are creating a map (citizen scientists) of invasive Phragmites (the tall grasses with huge seed pods e.g. seen along the 401): Invasive Phragmites mapping in Haliburton, ACCESS WEBINAR MATERIALS HERE

Youth Fishing contest entries: directly to Lou or I can forward.
